Some awesome friends of mine know how much I love Mitt.  So they invited me to go to a breakfast where he would be attending, this morning.  Since my husband is here he was able to come too, which was really exciting.  (we never get to do cool stuff like this)  He liked Mitt, but he wasn’t as pumped as I was about him.  Well after listening to Mitt talk my husband is now a serious Mitt fan as well 🙂

At the end of his short talk he asked if anyone had any questions.  A few stood and asked him some questions, and then I raised my hand and he called on me!  It was so exciting, because I was in a room full of congressmen and women and senators, and me a lil house wife.  Anyways I did not have a question I just had a little story, and this is what I told him,

Five nights ago we had a huge storm roll in.  We had such strong winds that trees were knocked down.  I woke in the morning upset because I just knew my ‘Mitt Romney for President’ sign would be long gone.  So I went outside and my sons basketball hoop was knocked over, and so I walked to the front of the house and the little plastic Mitt sign was STILL THERE!  Now I am not calling this a miracle, but I definetley think it’s a sign  🙂

Anyways I was able to share that with him, and it was fun!  He is such a good guy.  I hope that America will realize (before it is too late)  that we need him to clean up this mess we are in.  If anyone can do it I believe he can!

  2. To My Friends of Faith,

Recently a friend at our church brought this “film” to my attention.
Her son apparently was sent this web link from someone.

It’s a movie clip (that has been recently released, or is about to,,, I’m not sure),,
anyway, it depicts Mormons as flesh eating ghouls, and it is just awful. http://www.thebookofzombie.com

On behalf of myself and my husband, and our Mormon friends,
I would like to make sure that young people are NOT subjected to this terrible conception of our faith.

please let me know if you are able to help.

    regards, Betty Toms

  3. Hi, Steffielyn!!
That’s great!! Looks like you had a fun time there. This will be one story you will be telling your grandkids, that you met the future President of the US. Well, I hope he does win on your behalf. We need someone like him to shake things up in the government and in the US. Maybe it was a sign, ha, ha, that your sign didn’t blow down. 🙂 I hope you have a great time with your husband. Is he back for good or is this a temporary leave?

  7. Congrats, Steffie. That’s cool – and I had to laugh at the story. “Sign” or not, it’s one that will twist coventry’s shorts. 🙂

  8. No, I would have just loved to see the look on the non- LDS faces in the room when Steffie told her story.

  9. Actually I didn’t even finish, everyone in the room stood up and applauded, So I guess they liked what I said?!?

And after, they all came up to me (the senators) and said they LOVED my story! 🙂

I have such super cool friends that would invite lil ol’ me to a sweet meeting where I SO did not belong!!! BUT everyone excepted me!

  11. Thanks for your great blog, Steffie. I was just reading a TIME article and someone tells the exact same story, but it’s the Huckabee version! Haha.

  12. What the heck he stole my story!

And the storm I talked about only blew down some trees. my storm didn’t blow a house over and kill people. I think his story is sad and inconsiderate!

(by the way I was forced to remove my sign by my home owners association, I was turned in my my anti neighbors!)

Thanks for the comment teabeartom! 🙂

  13. Are you kidding or being sarcastic? I just read the story, his is sad and inconsiderate and yours is sweet and nice? Wow.

  14. I read it as tongue-in-cheek.

  15. I was being sarcastic,

except for the part where I said he was inconsiderate. The very storm he speaks of killed 32 people in the state I live in. (and 13 in his own state)

My own story is not “sweet and nice” but no one was killed and no ones house was destroyed in the storm that I spoke of. So my story IS cool. His story is NOT.
